I did it myself years ago. I quit my first job at a big company after 5 years... it was scary but I wasn't growing there. Best decision ever; I recommend everyone quit or get layoff'ed without a waiting job to learn that being without a job is okay, and that a job is not that big of a deal. Since then, I've been layoff'ed of twice, been purchased followed by a mini-Worldcom blowup of the purchasing company, failed to do my own startup, re-joined a big company, became a manager, and now wondering what's next? I'm thinking my own business again; don't feel like working for others. Quitting and spending time to explore is necessary; you need that period of emptiness and quietness to find what's next (though there's no guarantee you will find it; it's okay to keep taking guesses). So have fun and don't sweat the small stuff like getting a new job soon. Like my friend says, you have the rest of your life to work.

Vidya: Thanks for the support.

Shashi: Thanks for your faith in me.

Today my 2 directors, manager, HR manager and I had a heated discussion regarding my
benefits. According to them, I can leave on 1/11/08 itself with a benefit package if
I help with this quarter close and sign a contract saying I will not sue them in future.
They are giving me ideas you know.

Rev,
You are one courageous person to decide how you want your life to be and work towards
that, so you will never lose in your decisions - sure you will win out.

Rev,
I totally agree with your view point. One has to be constantly challenged mentally. Otherwise, it is easy to get into a stupid comfort zone and be very happy there! Good for you girl.
