Hello Islander –

This is a note to tell you I’m genuinely happy to see you on the Island. This little sojourn to the Island was originally going to be a temporary destination for those of us who had been set adrift when Poetry Thursday sunk – but the Island has become special to me… because of writers, like you, who have come to enjoy the wonderful tropical breeze, share your muse, and just write for the pleasure of it! So, the beaches will remain open, and all word-surfers continue to be invited -- and most welcome!

Poetry Thursday has resurfaced as ReadWritePoem, so you should check them out if you haven’t yet. The crew at Totally Optional Prompts is also doing a fine job. Both excellent writing destinations when you’re island hopping.

Not to be negative, but just to let you know -- I have been slowed a bit with back pain for a number of weeks. However, I really had a flair up of a damaged disc in my lower spine 10 days ago, and was flat on my back (thank heavens for morphine drips and percocet). I had just started getting around a bit yesterday, and into physical therapy, when the bloody damned disc bulged AGAIN!! It’s all I can do to sit in a chair right now for 5 minutes.

This has hampered my time at my computer -- so, I have not been able to read much of your work… but I will catch up with reading when I’m back in the saddle – so to speak.

I am dictating this to my wife. She is going to be most kind and post it on your blog, and all the Islander’s blogs for me. Kathy is a dear and I love her! What the hell she sees in me, I don’t know – and I don’t ask. ;)

Please know that there will be NO interruptions in the Writer’s Island prompts. I have one for this Friday that I think should spark some fun and interesting writing.

Write on! …you beachcombing scribe. See you on the island -- and may your muse be kind. ;)

With warmest regards…

…Rob
